Workday Reports connector
Workday Reports connector is a Databricks data engineering capability, introduced July 2024.
A managed Lakeflow Connect connector that ingests data from Workday custom reports into Databricks through the report web service URL.
- The whole integration hangs on a URL you copy out of Workday, and the docs plead with you not to lose its tail - do not truncate format=json at the end.
- The recommended Workday user is barred from the Workday UI on purpose - tick Do Not Allow UI Sessions, because it will only ever talk to the RaaS API.
- It ingested whole reports until June 2026, when incremental ingestion arrived in Beta - give a report a cursor column and only changed rows come through.
Limitations: Up to 250 tables per pipeline. No automated schema evolution for data type changes, and column renames arrive as a new column plus a deleted one. Authentication is OAuth with a manual refresh token or username/password; OAuth U2M and M2M are not supported. Incremental ingestion is Beta and needs a cursor column plus two prompts set up on the report.
