The IDE for developing Lakeflow (Spark Declarative) pipelines - code-first, folder-based, with selective execution, data previews, and pipeline graphs on one surface.
- A code-first IDE that shows your pipeline graph, data previews, and selective runs on one screen - though its URL still betrays the old name, 'multi-file editor.'
- It became generally available in May 2026, bringing an agent-first Genie Code experience for creating and debugging production pipelines.
- Pipelines can be unit tested from inside the editor: Python tests run against mock data by redirecting catalog tables, so transformations get checked without touching the real ones.
Limitations: Running the code for a single table is available only for streaming tables and materialized views - sinks and views are not supported. Running a single file skips errors in other files, uses each other table's most recent materialization, can fail on tables not yet materialized and may draw an incorrect or disjointed pipeline graph, and non-source code files cannot be external files outside the pipeline root folder.
