Google Drive connector
Google Drive connector is a Databricks data engineering capability, introduced May 2026.
The managed Lakeflow Connect connector that ingests files from Google Drive into Databricks as binary data, parsed Delta tables or file metadata only; a separate standard connector reads Drive with read_files, spark.read and Auto Loader.
- You can ingest a Drive without reading a single file - it can capture file metadata without loading file contents.
- There are two Google Drive connectors: the standard one went Beta in January 2026, the managed one in May, and they reached GA together in August 2026.
- With Databricks-managed OAuth, no Google Cloud project or app registration is required - if your workspace has that option switched on.
