WORM snapshots was renamed - Snowflake now calls it Backups, as of November 2025.

WORM snapshots → Backups

Immutable backups of specific Snowflake tables, schemas or databases, taken under a snapshot policy and unchangeable once written.

• The immutability is the entire product: once a snapshot exists it cannot be changed, which is what the Write Once, Read Many in the name is promising. 🔗
• It kept the name for about three months: the preview shipped in August 2025 and the rename was already in the release notes by November. 🔗
