The deep-reasoning mode inside a Genie Agent that tackled complex business questions with multi-step reasoning and hypothesis testing instead of a single query.

• It showed its work, and the work was a lot: Databricks ended up simplifying the thinking trace and shoving the hypothesis evaluations into a sidebar so people could actually read the answer. 🔗
• Weeks after it reached Beta the architecture was collapsed into a single reasoning agent that writes both the hypotheses and the SQL, which is what finally got it to follow instructions and stop filing such long reports. 🔗
• Its own doc address, docs.databricks.com/gcp/en/genie/research-agent, still resolves: Databricks kept the old path alive and quietly lands you on the Genie Agents concepts page instead. 🔗
