Init scripts on DBFS is retired, replaced by Unity Catalog Volumes (retired December 2023).

DBFS mounts Init scripts on DBFS Unity Catalog Volumes

Cluster initialization shell scripts stored on DBFS, plus the older legacy global and cluster-named init-script mechanisms.

This deprecation has real teeth: leave your init scripts on DBFS and the cluster flatly refuses to start until you move them somewhere governed.
Legacy global init scripts were switched off for every workspace on September 1, 2023.
