Custom URL

Custom URL is a Databricks developer experience capability, introduced July 2026.

A single branded entry point for a whole Databricks account (for example acme.databricks.com) that replaces the per-workspace URLs users navigate today, letting them move between workspaces and Genie One without signing in again.

  • You get the vanity domain on loan, not in freehold: the docs reserve Databricks the right to change, reclaim, or revoke a custom URL at any time, promising advance notice only where possible.
  • An eligible admin can claim the URL themselves with one button, but nobody can rename it themselves afterwards - changing it means contacting your Databricks account team.
  • The admin who claims it has to be on a company mailbox: the account must be a paying, verified customer and the claiming admin needs a non-reserved domain email address.

Limitations: Public Preview, and the account must be enabled for unified login and must not use Chrome-managed passkeys. Workspaces behind front-end Private Link fall back to their legacy per-workspace URLs, and Private Link for account-level resources is only supported in Beta; the Publish to Power BI task does not support custom URLs. Developer tooling needs minimum versions (CLI/DABs 1.0.0, Terraform 1.114.0, Go SDK 0.130.0, Python SDK 0.103.0, Java SDK 0.105.0, VS Code extension 2.11.0).
