Shared / Single user access modes

Shared / Single user access modes was renamed - Databricks now calls it Standard and Dedicated access modes, as of March 2025.

No isolation shared access mode → Shared / Single user access modes → Standard and Dedicated access modes

Compute access modes that determine Unity Catalog support, language availability, and whether a cluster is shared.

• The two original ways to attach compute to governed data: one isolated every user's Python, SQL and Scala so a crowd could safely share one cluster, the other gave a lone user privileged machine access for GPUs, R and RDD APIs. 🔗
