SecureConnect

SecureConnect is a Databricks data governance capability, introduced June 2026.

An OpenSharing option that lets a provider share data from cloud storage behind a firewall or private endpoint without allowlisting each recipient's network.

• It lets a provider share data from storage behind a firewall or private endpoint without adding each collaborator's network to an allowlist, and it works for clean rooms too - Databricks brokers the connection through a managed proxy. 🔗
• It debuted as 'OpenSharing SecureConnect' in June 2026. 🔗

⚠ Limitations: Assets can't be backed by Cloudflare R2 storage; it can't be used with recipients that read shared data through SAP HANA, which does not support the pre-signed URLs SecureConnect delivers data with; it is not available on AWS GovCloud; AWS PrivateLink to S3 is not compatible with the FIPS endpoints Databricks uses by default in all US regions; and mTLS is supported only for Databricks recipients on serverless compute. 🔗
