SecureConnect

SecureConnect is a Databricks data governance capability, introduced June 2026.

An OpenSharing option that lets a provider share data from cloud storage behind a firewall or private endpoint without allowlisting each recipient's network.

  • It lets a provider share data from storage behind a firewall or private endpoint without adding each collaborator's network to an allowlist, and it works for clean rooms too - Databricks brokers the connection through a managed proxy.
  • It debuted as 'OpenSharing SecureConnect' in June 2026.

Limitations: Assets can't be backed by Cloudflare R2; not available on AWS GovCloud; and AWS PrivateLink to S3 isn't compatible with the FIPS endpoints Databricks uses by default in US regions. Recipient-side limits (such as mTLS support) also apply.
