Mission Critical is a Databricks data governance capability, introduced June 2026.

A workspace add-on that unlocks managed disaster recovery plus the Enhanced Security and Compliance (ESC) controls for a single compute rate, enabled per workspace from the account console.

• It bundles managed disaster recovery with the Enhanced Security and Compliance controls into one per-workspace add-on billed at a single compute rate - and it's gated, so you turn it on by talking to your account team from a new Add-ons tab, not with a toggle. 🔗
• It entered Public Preview on June 12, 2026. 🔗

⚠ Limitations: Requires an Enterprise-plan workspace and the gated Managed DR preview; only account admins can toggle it, and it can't be turned off while a failover group is active. Enhanced security monitoring and automatic cluster update apply to classic compute only, and enabling the compliance security profile with standards permanently pins the workspace to CSP. 🔗
