Databricks SQL (DBSQL)

Databricks SQL is the current Databricks name, previously SQL Analytics (since May 2021).

The serverless data warehouse for running SQL queries, dashboards, and BI on the lakehouse.

• Easy to confuse with SQL Warehouse, but one's the product and the other's the compute engine that runs it - and it dropped the name 'SQL Analytics' back in 2021. 🔗
• When it was renamed in May 2021, even the access entitlement changed: 'SQL Analytics access' became 'Databricks SQL access.' 🔗

⚠ Limitations: Databricks limits queries on a SQL warehouse by compute cost; classic and pro warehouses have a fixed limit of one cluster per 10 concurrent queries, and autoscaling only adds clusters up to the configured maximum. 🔗
